Frequently Asked Questions

If your questions aren’t answered here, please get in touch with us – we’re always happy to chat.

Do your portable homes require council approval?

The answer will depend on where your portable home will be located. If you’re located in NSW, there are over 150 local councils, each with their own rules and regulations.

How do I get my portable homes into it's desired location?

All of our buildings are transported on a tilt tray truck. If you have truck access to your property, the transportation company can place the building into your desired location.

If you don’t have truck access, a crane will be required to lift the building off of the truck into your desired location.

All of our buildings are structurally sound and can safely be craned into any location.

How much does it cost to transport a portable home?

Our preferred transportation company in NSW charge per km and is based on the size of the building.

If your portable home is under 9 metres long, it will cost $6 per kilometre.

If your portable home is over 9 metres long, it will cost $8.25 per kilometre.

These prices are based on portable homes that are less than 3.4 metres in width. If it is wider, it will be an extra cost due to the requirement of specifying a wide load on Australian roads.

However, you are more than welcome you to arrange your own towing service if needed.

What do the portable homes sit on?

All of our steel bases are custom built in Queanbeyan.

If your building will be placed on flat ground, all of our buildings can be easily placed on the ground.

If your building will be placed on uneven ground, we recommend a piering system to allow the building to sit level to the ground. We recommend concrete, stick or brick piers.

Can I change the floor plan?

The simple answer is, yes. If you would like to talk to our sales team about your custom design, please give us a call or send us an email.

Visit our page here where you can download our custom design floor plan to draw your own requirements. Send it through to us and we can provide you with a no obligation quote.

What is the difference between the standard and the premium range?

All of our portable buildings are made with structural coolroom panels.

Our standard range only includes the panels which are visible from outside. This is suitable if you’re wanting to save a bit of money, or if the buildings will be used for offices.

Our premium range includes your choice of external cladding that is either vinyl or colorbond cladding. Both include lifetime guarantees and make the buildings more sleek.

Can I choose my own colours?

Absolutely. We have a range of options to choose from for each area of the portable home including; the kitchen benchtop, kitchen cupboards, external cladding, vinyl, windows, doors and more.

How does the plumbing and electrical work for portable homes?

If you have a portable building with a bathroom or kitchen installed, all of our buildings are fully wired for electrical and fully plummed for plumbing.

All you need to do is to engage with a plumber and an electrician to connect your building up to the existing connections on your property.

What else do you call portable homes?

We use the term portable home interchangably with modular homes, transportable homes, prefab homes, relocatable homes, and, prefabricated homes.

All of which are the same sort of premise, in which they are built-off site to your specifications and delivered to a specific location.

Depending on the size, and state they will be in, they can also be treated as a non-permanent building to avoid the need for DA approval for your building.
